Frequently asked questions about "Overnight travel"

This depends on the respective service. On some trains, the on-board bistro/restaurant is open at the beginning and end of the journey for an evening snack or breakfast. Please see the timetable information for more details.

You can also use the IC and ICE overnight services with the Interrail Pass. You only need to use one travel day if you travel on a direct overnight service that leaves after 19:00 and arrives at your destination after 04:00.

ICE and IC overnight services are available on many routes within Germany. Some routes also run to neighbouring countries.
