Koblenz – Cologne : Installation of electronic interlocking systems

Several construction works are being carried out on the left bank of the Rhine to install three electronic interlockings. The new signal boxes will increase flexibility and reduce susceptibility to faults at the Cologne junction. The signal boxes will be equipped with modern technology so that they are also compatible with future generations of technology. Ultimately, ESTW form the basis for the digitalisation of the railways in Germany.

Note

The adjusted timetables are not yet fully available in the information and booking systems.
