This July, your BahnCard 25 will entitle you to the discounts of a BahnCard 50. This means you will not only get 25% off saver fares, but also 50% off flexible fares. You must have a BahnCard 25 to take advantage of this special offer. The offer is valid only for travel on DB long-distance services within Germany from 1 July to 31 July 2026.

Here's how it works:

When purchasing a ticket via bahn.de or in the DB Navigator app, as well as at DB agencies, DB Travel Centres and ticket machines, select a BahnCard 50 discount if you have a BahnCard 25. Book tickets

Frequently asked questions

The special offer is available from 1 July to 31 July 2026. During this period, BahnCard 25 holders can use the flexible fare discount of a BahnCard 50. The return journey must take place by 31 July 2026. The special offer is valid only for bookings made between 1 July and 31 July 2026.

The BahnCard 25=50 special offer allows holders of a BahnCard 25 to receive a 50% discount on flexible fare tickets. When booking, please select a BahnCard 50 discount that corresponds to the class of your own BahnCard 25. If booking at DB Travel Centres, DB agencies or DB ticket machines, please manually select a BahnCard 50 discount that corresponds to the class of your own BahnCard 25. The ticket will show a BahnCard 50 discount with a flexible fare reduced by 50%.

The BahnCard 25=50 special offer is available only to holders of a valid BahnCard 25. 

Make sure you have your BahnCard 25 with you and present it upon request on the train so you can take advantage of the discount.

No, the special offer is not available for local transport tickets (e.g. transport association offers or the standard fare of the Deutschlandtarif). It is only available for long-distance tickets within Germany, provided that at least one section of the journey is on an ICE or IC/EC train.
