How it works
You can access a map of the surrounding area under the "Nearby" menu item in the DB Navigator app. The map not only displays all the stops and stations near to you, but also indicates bikes and scooters available for hire. You can rent the bike or scooter you select by going to the app of the respective sharing provider.
You can currently see and select the following sharing services on the map in DB Navigator:
- Bikes from Call a Bike
- Bikes and scooters from Dott
Frequently asked questions
Find answers to questions about sharing services in the DB Navigator app.
The performance of services such as location, map and camera functions is much better in mobile apps, which is why we are focusing on the integration of sharing services in the DB Navigator app.

Scooters from Dott and bikes from Call a Bike and Dott can currently be selected in the DB Navigator app.
To see where bikes and scooters are available in the DB Navigator app, tap on the "Nearby" menu item and select the "Bikes" or "Scooters" view.
To book bikes or scooters in the DB Navigator app, tap on the "Nearby" menu item and select the "Bikes" or "Scooters" mode. As soon as the available bikes or scooters are displayed on the map, you can tap on the one you want. Then tap on the "Booking" button.
You will then be redirected to the app of the respective sharing provider if you have already installed their app. If you have not yet installed the app of the service provider, you will be redirected to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to download the app. Once you have registered for or logged in to the provider's app, you can use it to start and end the rental.
The scooter number should be easy to find near the handlebars with the QR code.
It is not yet possible to book shared bikes and scooters directly in DB Navigator.
If you are experiencing technical problems when renting a bike or scooter, or if you have any further questions regarding the rental of a bike or scooter, please contact the service provider directly.
No, to log in to the sharing provider's app, you will need a separate account from the provider and the corresponding login details.
The providers offering shared bike and scooter services all have their own business regions; the availability of sharing services is dependent on what they offer.
DB is interested in entering into further partnerships with such providers. We are, however, currently unable to provide any specific information on when additional services may be available.
The price for renting a bike or scooter is made up of the basic rate and an activation fee charged by the respective sharing provider; these are taken from the pricing given by the provider in their app.
If you have tapped on a bike or scooter on the map to select it, further information on it will be displayed on a new page. On this page, you will find the symbol of a person on the right-hand side of the map. You can use this symbol to display the walking route from your current location to the rental vehicle.
The walking route to a bike or scooter can only be displayed if the distance walking from your location to the vehicle is no more than five kilometres.
If you have an accident involving a bicycle or scooter, please always contact the responsible service provider directly.
