You can book up to 12 months in advance online, at a DB Travel Centre or at a DB agency.

You may only travel on long-distance trains (ICE, IC/EC) and on the days indicated on the ticket.

If you are travelling on regional or local trains (RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn), you are not restricted to specific services or times. 

  • Children up to 5 years of age always travel for free. They do not need their own ticket or seat reservation.
  • Children aged 6-14 pay half the adult fare. The ticket includes a free seat reservation.

No. Seat reservations for infants are optional and can be booked additionally.

  • EUR 5.50 for second class
  • EUR 6.90 for first class

You cannot rebook or exchange your seat reservation for an infant travelling with you. If you need a different seat reservation, please book a new reservation.

Yes, you can reserve your preferred group journey free of charge for 14 days without any obligation to buy it, up to 2 months before your planned departure date.

Yes, depending on the offer you have booked, you can cancel your group ticket or reduce the number of people travelling.

Up to 30 days before the day of travel, you can either cancel the journey completely or reduce the number of people travelling, both free of charge. After this time, and up to one day before departure, you can claim a refund for the entire group journey at a cost of EUR 10 per cancelled person and per booking. 

Instant cancellation

You can cancel your digital ticket free of charge within a period of 3 hours (180 minutes) after purchase, regardless of the specific offer's terms and conditions. Payment will be refunded in full.

No, you cannot get a BahnCard discount when booking group offers.

You can reassign an ICE or IC/EC group ticket to a different passenger. Reassigning the ticket allows the name of the main passenger to be changed for either direction on the group ticket originally booked. This offer is available for DB long-distance tickets, but not for regional tickets.
