Frequently asked questions about "Lost & found service"

We will look for your lost item for up to 4 weeks and will inform you immediately if we find it.
If we were unable to find your item after 4 weeks, we will stop looking for it. Please note that we will not notify you of this.

Please note the following information:

• As well as reporting the loss to us, you must also submit a lost property enquiry to the respective partner rail company.
• In many cases, items of lost property are only discovered after the train has reached its final destination.
• Train from Germany to a different country: the item is usually handed over to the partner rail company.
• Train from abroad to Germany: the item is usually handed over in Germany.
