Bolzano is truly a special town, imbued with its own unique Italian-German identity thanks it the region's singular history. When you first arrive in Bolzano, you will immediately notice that the street names and signs tend to be in both Italian and German. Indeed, you will hear just as much German as you do Italian. This is also reflected in the food: choose from hearty Bavarian dishes or typical Italian fare.
Bolzano has more to offer than just flair, though! Many travel to Bolzano just to visit the fantastically preserved Ice Man, lovingly named "Ötzi", at the city's archaeology museum. Ötzi, along with his equipment and clothing, was preserved in ice for close to 5,300 years!
