Changes and new features for the timetable change

The timetable change on 15 December 2024 brings a number of changes and new features for your business trips and commuting, including price adjustments.

The saver business fare is coming – available to book from 1 January 2025

  • Low-cost ticket from EUR 27.99 for a specific train
  • Available from 1 January until 31 December 2025 for travel during this period
  • 25 % discount with BahnCard Business
  • Cancellation possible before the first day of validity for a fee of EUR 10, the refund will be made to the original payment method
  • Bookable via all bahn.business sales channels

Adjustments to prices and conditions

  • BahnCard and BahnCard Business 25/50 prices will remain unchanged.
  • Prices for the BahnCard 100 will rise by an average of 6.6 % to EUR 4.899 in 2nd class and EUR 7.999 in 1st class. The Deutschland-Ticket price increase is already included.
  • Super saver fares and prices for seat reservations will remain unchanged.
  • Flexible fares, flexible business fares and season tickets will increase by an average of 5.9 %.
  • Flexible fare tickets can still be cancelled free of charge up to and including the first day of validity. After that, the tickets can be cancelled for a fee of EUR 30.
  • Since October 2024, tickets and reservations can be booked up to 12 months in advance (instead of the previous 6 months).

New services

  • Berlin – Paris: new direct daytime service once a day in each direction via Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Strasbourg, journey time around eight hours
  • Amsterdam – Munich: new daily direct ICE service via Stuttgart and Ulm, journey time around seven hours
  • Munich – Lindau – Zurich: New additional direct connection (now a total of 8 per day), leaving early from Zurich and late from Munich, for long day trips from Switzerland and the Lake Constance region
  • Berlin – Krakow – Przemysl: in future three times a day every four hours between Berlin and Krakow, continuing twice a day to/from Przemysl
  • Berlin – Frankfurt Sprinter:  in future 11 times per day and direction in around four hours, including three additional non-stop services and two direct services to/from Saarbrücken

Construction sites in 2025

In addition to many construction projects in 2024, the general refurbishment of the Riedbahn has now also been completed. Your travellers can once again enjoy unrestricted long-distance train services on the Mannheim – Frankfurt / Frankfurt Airport route and can once again travel faster and more directly.

With push notifications for the journey, which can be activated directly when booking the ticket or using the "Bookmark trip" function in the connection search, your travellers are continuously informed of changes to their selected connection.
