Frequently asked questions about "Wifi"

Wifi is available on board all of our ICE trains, on some of our IC trains and on selected regional trains. We are gradually rolling out wifi for our entire long-distance fleet.

The wifi speed depends on the connection between the trains and mobile networks, as well as the number of fellow passengers who are online on the train at the same time. In addition, the wifi speed varies depending on the technology of the device and which mobile networks our system can access along the route. The speed may be lower than what you are used to at home.
Please refrain from bandwidth-intensive applications (e.g. app updates, downloads, high-definition films from the internet, operating system updates) as far as possible, as this improves the online experience for both you and your fellow passengers.
