Frequently asked questions about "Payment"

To rent bikes and scooters from sharing providers in the DB Navigator app, you can use credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) and PayPal (direct debit mandate).

In order to book sharing services directly in the DB Navigator app, you must set up this digital service the first time you use it. For contractual and technical reasons, you must also authorise a means of payment in your DB customer account for sharing services in advance. You can choose between PayPal and credit card. It may be necessary to set up the means of payment for this again. You can manage the stored means of payment at any time in your DB customer account under "Means of payment".

When booking a bike or scooter in the DB Navigator app, an amount will be temporarily withheld. This will be offset against the amount actually due within a few days after the end of the rental. The billing process may vary depending on the sharing provider and the payment method.

For contractual and technical reasons, you must authorise a means of payment in your DB customer account for sharing services in advance before you can use sharing services in the DB Navigator app. This may result in your credit card being displayed multiple times in your DB customer account. For the purposes of clarity, you should delete the previously saved credit card from your DB customer account. To do so, please proceed as follows:

1. Log in to your DB customer account.
2. Find the credit card under "Means of payment" and delete it

Note: Please note the information on the area of application of your credit card.

In order to be able to use the credit card already stored in your DB customer account for sharing services, you must add it once again for technical reasons and authorise it for sharing services. For the purposes of clarity, you should delete the previously saved credit card from your DB customer account. To do so, please proceed as follows:

1. Log in to your DB customer account.
2. Find the credit card under "Means of payment" and delete it.

You can only manage and delete your PayPal direct debit mandate directly in your PayPal account.
