BahnCard 100: travel unlimited and benefit

The BahnCard 50 gives you a 100% discount on local and long-distance travel, including the free digital Deutschland-Ticket.

You can use the ICE and IC/EC trains, ÖBB Nightjet (reservation may be required) and local transport (IRE, RE, RB, S-Bahn).

If the BahnCard is recognised on the desired connection, the discount is automatically deducted at the time of booking. You can use the digital BahnCard in the same way as the plastic BahnCard for the various regional fares and transport associations.

Whether the BahnCard is recognised in the respective state tariffs or transport associations is regulated by their tariff and transport conditions.

The BahnCard is available to all travellers between the ages of 27 and 64. When you order your BahnCard, your date of birth is used to check whether you comply with this. 

Please also show your official photo ID during the ticket inspection on the train. 

Our tips:

• Travellers between the ages of 6 and 26 can use the My BahnCard
• Persons up to and including 64 years of age who receive a pension due to full invalidity, and severely disabled persons with a disability rate of at least 70 are entitled to a discounted BahnCard
• The BahnCard for senior citizens is available for people aged 65 and over

The costs of the BahnCard 100 are as follows:

• EUR 3.199 for second class
• EUR 5.999 for first class

The BahnCard is valid for 12 months. The BahnCard 100 is valid for 1 year from the 1st day of validity. It is automatically extended for a further year unless it is cancelled in text form 4 weeks before the end of the term.

Yes, this BahnCard is always automatically extended by one year unless it is cancelled in writing 4 weeks before it is due to expire. The subsequent card is either a regular or reduced BahnCard, or a first/second-class My BahnCard.

Queries about the subscription

You can cancel your BahnCard 100 up to six weeks before the end of the validity period.

Simply use your customer account:

1. Log in to your customer account via website.
2. Under "BahnCard" and "Options" you can find out whether you can cancel.
3. If cancellation is possible, confirm by clicking "Cancel BahnCard".

Manage BahnCard

BahnCards can be purchased up to 6 months in advance. Tickets can be booked up to 12 months in advance. It is not necessary to already have a valid BahnCard at the time of booking for a journey planned in the future. A valid BahnCard must only be presented on the day of travel.
