Why is there a reservation requirement for many cross-border connections?

Experience has shown that international trains are very busy in the summer months. With the international reservation requirement, which even applies all year round on some international runs, we offer you a reliable and comfortable journey.

The reservation requirement applies to services to Denmark and the Netherlands from 28 May 2025 up to and including 31 August 2025, and to the Czech Republic from 15 June 2025 up to and including 31 August 2025. In each case, this applies to all trains marked in the timetable as requiring reservations.
