Frequently asked questions
You can book the BahnCard 100 trial card from 12 October to 8 November 2026. The booking is subject to an advance purchase period of up to 180 days.
You can use the (trial) BahnCard 100 for business travellers, first class for any number of journeys throughout Germany on all Deutsche Bahn trains. You can travel on ICE or IC/EC trains, ÖBB Nightjet trains (reservation may be required) and local transport (IRE, RE, RB, S-Bahn) operated by DB and private local rail companies.
From 10 December 2023, BahnCard 100 holders will get the digital Deutschland-Ticket free of charge and can add it to the DB Navigator app. This means that, in addition to the benefits of the BahnCard 100, you can use local transport (including buses, undergrounds and trams) nationwide wherever the Deutschland-Ticket is valid. We therefore recommend that you always have your digital Deutschland-Ticket with you.
During the validity of your BahnCard, you are entitled to:
- 120 free seat reservations with a BahnCard 100, 1st class
- 30 free seat reservations with a trial BahnCard 100, 1st class
Please note:
- You can use the allotment for seat reservations or for taking a bicycle with you without purchasing a ticket.
- The allotment is valid for all trains of Deutsche Bahn AG that do not require mandatory reservations.
- Unused allotments expire at the end of the BahnCard’s validity or upon cancellation of the BahnCard. Please book your seats directly while logged in to your DB customer account.
The trial BahnCard 100 for business travellers is valid for 3 months from the first day of validity. After that, the term ends automatically.
Earlier cancellation is not possible.
- The Deutschland-Ticket is integrated free of charge.
- You can take your bike with you free of charge.
- You can register for free with the Flinkster carsharing service and get discounted rates for Call a Bike.
- The fee for the BahnCard is added to the company account when classifying the business customer discount.
- You will receive an immediate credit for the sum of the fee for the BahnCard in the form of bonus and status points, which will be added to your BahnBonus loyalty points account.
We recommend the trial BahnCard 100 for business travellers, first class for users who spend at least EUR 1.799 a year on train tickets in first and second class.
We recommend the trial BahnCard 100 for business travellers, second class for users who spend at least EUR 999 a year on train tickets in second class.
There are different regulations for the (trial) BahnCard 100 and the integrated Deutschland-Ticket for checking on the train:
- Show your BahnCard 100 in the DB Navigator app under ‘BahnCards, season tickets & subscriptions’ in the ‘Journeys’ menu.
- You must load the integrated Deutschland-Ticket onto a customer account (business or private) and present it digitally in the DB Navigator app.
No, neither an upgrade nor an exchange to a Trial BahnCard 100 for Business Travellers at the special price is possible.
Therefore, it is also not possible to offset an existing Trial BahnCard 100 for Business Travellers against a Trial BahnCard 100 for Business Travelers at the special price.
